SUMMARY:Dillington Summer School : Week One
DESCRIPTION:\nOut-and-about or Dillington based\, create a learning holiday with a difference on one of our week long Summer Schools and learn with like-minded people whilst having fun\, relaxing and rejuvenating. There are three weeks to choose from. \nOn offer during this week is a mixture of full day out-and-about courses and a full day art course\, as well as some half day courses\, all of which run from Monday to Friday. \nResidents select a full day course or alternatively a morning and afternoon course\, from the list below\, and attend accordingly for the whole week. \nResidents arrive for tea on Sunday and depart after breakfast on Saturday.\nEach evening residents come together for dinner and\, if your energy and sense of adventure allows\, some entertainment – learned or otherwise. \nNon Residents select either a full day course\, one half day course or one morning and one afternoon course and attend accordingly for the whole week. \nNon Residents – arrive for coffee and depart after tea each day. \nNon Residents may book dinner in advance for any of the evenings (subject to availability) and stay on for the evening entertainment. \nSummary of Courses – Week One\nFor further information about each course see the relevant residential course page. \nFull Day Courses\nBe a Better Painter with Clare du Vergier\nAntiques Roadshow with Mark Coray (out and about)\nCastles & Fortified Houses with Mike Hope & Wayne Bennett (out & about) \nMorning Courses\nParis – The Tale of a Great City with Chris Pollard\nMonastic Houses of England with Tim Porter\nA World By Itself: Five Novels From the Different Lands of the British Isles with Liz Merry\nThe Patchwork of Your Life: Writing Workshop with Elizabeth Hawksley \nAfternoon Courses\nTen Great Operas with Chris Pollard\nMedieval Art & Music with Tim Porter\nLondon – A Nation Not a City with Dr Paul McDonald \nNon Resident Fees\n(Mon – Fri only)\n5 Full Days £291(includes a three- course lunch and refreshments)\n5 Half Days £184 (includes a three- course lunch and refreshments) \nOur week long Summer Schools run over three weeks.
