SUMMARY:Early Music:  From Susato to Sweelinck
DESCRIPTION:\nWhile many composers of Franco-Flemish or Netherlandish stock were lured south to warmer climes\, others preferred to stay put\, adding to the rich seam of music of post-Josquin and post-Lassus idiom. Investigating the latter\, we shall see how Antwerp could compete with Venice in its array of talented printers\, some of their publications of exceptionally high quality. The course will be predominantlypractical\, and is intended for singers and players of early instruments (A=440) confident in a one voice or instrument per part situation.
