DESCRIPTION:\nIf you have ever marvelled at the beauty of linocut prints (and Ian’s are particularly spectacular)\, this course may be your opportunity to learn. Ian has shown us what his beginners can produce after a couple of days and we have been amazed. \nIf you have ever wanted to try printmaking but feel a bit intimidated by its apparent complexity then this weekend course should appeal to you. Over the course of the two days the enthusiastic beginner can learn the process of reduction linocut printing\, without using a press\, under the guidance of a knowledgeable and sympathetic tutor. The course will look at techniques\, materials and tools as well as turning the seemingly complicated process of producing your own four Colour print into manageable steps. The tutor\, Ian Phillips\, has a lot of experience in coaxing a wonderful print from everyone on the course and you will be amazed by what you will achieve in such a short time. This method is ideal for the first time artist and those who already paint or draw but would like to try a different technique. \nAll you have to bring are any pictures you find inspiring\, a small image you would like to try producing as a linocut (About 16 cm x 23 cm) and some enthusiasm. All materials and tools will be provided. \n\n \n
