DESCRIPTION:\nFrom the great craftsmanship found at the Sutton Hoo ship burial to the exquisite design and execution of the Wilton Diptych seven centuries later\, medieval English art has the ability to evoke surprise and wonder. With reference to such works of art and others like the Bayeux Tapestry and the illuminated manuscripts\, we will highlight the major staging posts on a cultural journey through medieval England. A trip to Wells Cathedral will be included as part of the course. All-comers welcome. \n\n \n
