DESCRIPTION:\nOn this relaxing one day course\, you will discover how to design and create a beautiful hard-backed book with your own piece of batik on the cover. You will begin by learning the art of Indonesian batik – hot wax resist painting on cloth – to create a piece of original textile which can be used as the focal point for your book cover. There will be plenty of time for you to experiment with the technique and the varied effects which can be achieved with fabric paints. The wax is then removed\, and the resulting piece of batik can be embroidered or beaded before being mounted. \n\n \n
