The Grange
The Grange offers courses in traditional book skills – bookbinding, paper marbling, letterpress printing – as well as linocut printmaking and painting courses, and, for women, mindfulness and meditation retreats – all in the beautiful and peaceful setting of our Georgian country house set in ten acres of lawns, fields and woodland. Delicious home cooked food, using our own produce where possible. Learn something new whilst enjoying a relaxed country house experience far removed from the institutional learning experience of schools or colleges.
The Grange is a beautiful Georgian country house, once owned by William Provis (who, as Resident Engineer, worked with Thomas Telford). The courses take place in large public rooms in the house – our lovely morning-room or conservatory – and our well equipped bindery and print rooms. Accommodation is provided in spacious and comfortable en-suite bedrooms, many with views of the grounds. Meals are taken in our wood-panelled dining room, with candle-light in the evenings.
