From 1 November 2011, ARCA, the UK’s leading association promoting quality learning experiences, has just launched a new online tutor directory for its members.

Previously known as the Adult Residential Colleges Association, ARCA recently opened up its services to all providers of residential adult education in theUK. This change has been a welcome development for the membership, and increases the range of courses available to include singing workshops, guitar retreats, painting holidays and music appreciation weekends.

Any tutor based in Europe can join the ARCA Tutor Directory, offering them a chance to promote information about themselves and their courses to programme planners nationwide.

The decision to launch the Directory was taken at the recent half-year Forum at Missenden Abbey in Buckinghamshire. These networking events highlight another benefit of ARCA membership, the opportunity to share ideas and discuss all ways that support and maintain the provision of informal adult residential education around the UK.

ARCA Chairman, Wayne Bennett says, “ARCA is excited by this new development as many experienced tutors are keen to expand their work and programme planners are always on the look out for new tutors with great course ideas. I have no doubt that the Directory will grow over the coming years as enthusiastic tutors become more savvy in promoting themselves and venues make full use this key information resource.”
