Boat Building Academy
The Boat Building Academy offers 2 days to 38 week courses in boat building, woodworking, sail making and associated skills. Based on Lyme Regis’ famous Monmouth Beach the Academy lies at the heart of the Jurassic Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
Our Short Course Programme runs throughout the year. Courses include Basic Woodworking Skills, Furniture Making, Traditional Wooden Boat Building, Modern Wooden Boat Building, Wooden Boat Restoration, GRP Repairs, Sail Making, Ropework more.
The Marine Centre not only houses the Boat Building Academy, but also living accommodation for students. There are twelve single study bedrooms, a large fully equipped kitchen, dining room/sitting room with woodburning stove, shared bath and shower rooms, and a further sitting room.
