Haydn is the composer who more than any other epitomizes the aims and achievements of the Classical era. We will explore the range and nature of his compositions by reference to a variety of masterworks from across the whole span of his career. Our weekend will conclude with a performance of Haydn’s final string quartet by one of Britain’s leading ensembles, the Brodowski String Quartet.
