POETRY

Mon 20 Nov 2017 @ 16:30 - Sat 25 Nov 2017 @ 10:00

Poets write out of their personal chaos – thepreoccupations that arise from their lives and
relationships. But can private experience be poetically
shaped to connect with a wider audience? Can we draw
on the personal to create work that is publicly engaged?
Drawing on concepts such as vision and inspiration,
and poetic forms and approaches including ballads and
confessionalism, we will explore ways to bear witness to
our lives and times.

Working with each writer’s specific play/text, we will probe, feedback, inspire and encourage solutions to any writing problems or process hiccoughs. Acting as writing buddies, we will help to get your creative juices flowing, so that participants can use the rest of their week to get that precious play improved, and maybe even finished.
