This is a structured course for students with little or no previous experience. It comprises of a series of short projects designed to introduce basic making and decorating techniques that allows the student to create interesting and individual pieces. Work will involve using coiling, slab and throwing techniques working with different clays. Surface decoration will explore the use of relief and slip decoration techniques. Students will be encouraged to photograph stages of making and decoration for future reference. Advice will be given about how to get your pots fired local to where you live as this willnot be possible during the course.
