Write to Unite – competition for young writers
Listed on January 15, 2014 in Blogs!Arvon has teamed up with Kick it Out – football’s equality and inclusion campaign, currently marking its 20 year anniversary, to run a free writing competition: Write to Unite.
The competition asks young people, aged 7-18, from across England to creatively display how football brings people together for the love of the game.
Individuals, professional football clubs, community groups, libraries,youth groups, amateur clubs and schools can get involved and make a stand against discrimination by celebrating the diversity of the game.
We are looking for creative writing which champions the way in which football can unite people regardless of age, race, religion, or gender.
Entries can include: a poem, story, song or chant a match report, player interview or a feature to appear in a match programme or website feature.
The competition has three age categories, 7-10, 11-14 and 15-18. The closing date for entries is 31 January 2014 at 5pm.
Winners will be in with a chance to win prizes including an England shirt, match tickets, books and signed merchandise.

Email your entries to info@kickitout.org or post to Kick It Out, 4th Floor South, 1-5 Clerkenwell Road, London, EC1M 5PA. An independent panel of judges will pick the winners who will be presented with their prizes at a ceremony later this year.
