Out of the City and into the Country
Listed on December 2, 2014 in Blogs!I was talking to someone in Bristol last night about meetings and they said that they often go out of the city and into the country in order to think, debate and decide on business strategy. Of course this was music to my ears and something I’ve being going on about for years… with some success I might add. Although cities are wonderfully dynamic places they can be overwhelming and distracting too. Spending time in peaceful surroundings, slowing down, focusing and reflecting on important issues is a great way to do business. Turning off the mobile and resisting the e-mail obsession may be a step to far for some but that too could be something worth trying. Just think about the benefits of holidays and then think about replicating the same conditions away from the office. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not advocating meetings down on the Costa del Sol but simply a short journey out of the city and into the country. Out of Bristol and into Somerset and why not Dillington?
