Mission Impottable. Delft, porcelain, bone china, ironstone – these ceramic terms are bandied about until our heads are spinning. Our mission, should we choose to accept it, is to explore their nature and put them into historical context. Including a car boot challenge and information on taking a stall, this course is hands on and hilarious!
Addicted to antiques? Really rate retro? Is your dream to dabble in dealing? If you are nodding to any of these this is the course for you. In the slide assisted lecture ‘Mission Impottable’ we track the development of British ceramics and clarify the difference between the various bodies and glazes. There is an opportunity to handle and examine a range of pieces to assist the learning. You are invited to be a dealer for the day in our specially devised car boot sale, after which we discuss taking a stall at an antique fair or flea market. Students are invited to bring a piece to show the class, the theme is nostalgia.
