Globalisation has had a profound impact on the world. Technological developments and progress in communication and transport technologies have reshaped the way we interact. While globalisation encompasses a number of different aspects, in this course the focus is primarily on economic globalisation and its impact on international development. Using a number of case studies and empirical examples, course participants will develop a critical understanding of how globalisation affects international development and whether it has led to the world becoming a more equal place or contributed to further accentuating inequality between low and high income countries.
