Here is a course to make your mark. Any tool making contact with any surface will create a mark – a dot, a dash, an imprint, a scribble or something more considered which may be seen as expressing a mood, condition or feeling. Over this weekend you will explore the journey from mark making and printing through creating a design for a stitched panel in relief to dimensional stitching.
Expressive marks will be developed from a design source into print blocks. You can then use these blocks to print on to fabrics which in turn will be cut and pieced, stitched and manipulated to create a small panel that has dimensional and relief surfaces.
By the end of the weekend, you will have extended your knowledge of mark-making, printing and its subsequent interpretation into raised stitching.
