Our singing holidays and retreats in France are run by Peter Evans – who had over 25 years experience as a singing teacher and vocal coach in the South East of England before moving to the beautiful Limousin region of France. Peter was taught by the legendary vocal coach and authority on the voice Tona de Brett.
Peter has worked with everyone from chart stars, to people who believe they’re tone deaf, as well as those who just love to sing & want to develop their technique & confidence.
Our singing holidays and retreats in France focus on facilitating positive group learning and interaction. Our breaks are a great opportunity to meet new people whilst sharing a fun and creative activity. Many lifelong friendships have been formed on our singing workshops and holidays throughout the years.
As well as teaching good vocal and performance techniques Peter specialises in working with the emotional blocks, fears & negative voices people can have that stop them from singing wholeheartedly & fully, or even perhaps from singing at all. So if you haven’t sung since school or only sing in the shower don’t let that stop you. This is the week for you too!

In recent years we have sung songs by Adele, The Beatles, Jake Bugg, Coldplay and Tracy Chapman to name but a few – group song suggestions are always welcomed too.
Every morning we will wake up to the sound of the birds in the many trees around the house singing their little hearts out, before breakfasting & then heading off to our large ‘workshop barn’ to sing our own hearts out for 2 1/2 to 3 hours.
Afternoons are spent on individual vocal sessions (everybody gets two 30 minute one-2-one sessions with Peter as well as the group classes) & doing whatever else you fancy. Enjoy a taste of la vie Francaise – with good food, wine & beautiful walks in the French countryside straight from our front door. Do as much or as little as you would like; from sunbathing & swimming on one of the beaches at Lac De Vassiviere, to mountain/road cycling, horseriding, art galleries, live music and regular local food and craft markets, there is much to discover and explore in your free time in the Limousin.
The group songs we have learnt during the week, (plus individual pieces from any students who are drawn to doing one), are showcased in the Performance Night Show at the end of the week, where a friendly gathering of Peter’s local students & our lovely neighbours will make up our guest audience. A great chance to share what you have been working on during the week.
De Tout Coeur Limousin is our 19th century converted farmhouse set in 2 acres of private garden and woodland backing onto farmland and forest. Located in the heart of the Millevaches Regional Natural Park in the Limousin region of SW France just a few minutes walk from Lac de Vassiviere – one of the largest lakes in France and a vibrant centre for outdoor and cultural activities throughout the year. We offer comfortable shared accommodation in a combination of single/double rooms.
All abilities welcome – from complete beginners to more experienced singers.
