The Academy’s 2017 Short Course Programme has seven woodworking courses to choose from, catering for the completely terrified to the more experienced. If people are too busy to join the school for the 12 weeks of the Woodworking Skills incorporating Furniture Making and Design course, they can build up a good set of skills a week at a time by joining a series of short (5 day) courses. The short course programme includes Basic Woodworking (1, 2 and 3), Furniture Making, Marquetry and Antique Furniture Restoration.
Whether your interest is practical, professional or purely for pleasure, the Academy’s website www.boatbuildingacademy.com shows details of the courses on offer, the work students produce as part of the courses and what they go on to do with their new-found skills. The Academy also offers on-site accommodation.
