Listed on May 22, 2016 in Member NewsWhat plans do you have for the summer? Why not try something different with Hawkwood’s Summer Creative Arts Programme? From classic creative skills such as writing, making and drawing to the more eclectic Introduction to Blacksmithing, Nia dance and Zentangle. With no experience necessary, there really is something for everyone! If you want to try your hand at something practical we have a Raku Pottery weekend, where you can experiment with glazes and decoration. We also have Jewellery Making and Woodcarving, both of which will allow you to create something uniquely yours! Create a Singing Bowl is a journey into resonance where you can create your very own singing bowl for music, meditation and sound healing. Similarly, Create a Singing Bell allows you to forge your own unique singing bell. This shorter course is an opportunity to sample the work of Ton Akkermans, master craftsman from Holland. If you are a budding writer Poetic Edges, How to Write a Story or Song Writing are sure to inspire you, plus our How to get your Book Published course is perfect if you are thinking of publishing any of your written work. If you love to draw Hawkwood has plenty to offer; there will be opportunities to draw with Charcoal and Graphite, Paper Cloth and Thread alongside a Summer Painting Weekend and Sketching in Ink and Watercolour. Or, if you want to create some beautiful writing you can try our Calligraphy course.
