During this course we will look at the Festival of Britain during the turbulent year of 1951, with a particular emphasis on the “60 for ‘51” art competition. In addition to the Festival arts and murals, using films, books, theatre, radio and television, we will also place the Festival in terms of the cultural, historical and political events of the time. All-comers welcome.
